Shine Group Leader
Shine group Assistants (see below Leader description)
We’re looking for a group leader to plan and deliver two weekly sessions for young people with additional needs. We are already running a successful group on a Saturday so we are extending to a second session.
The work is sessional and paid at £10.50 per hour for 7 hours a week. The post is funded for 3 months initially. For three years we have received funding from Aiming High. If funding bids are successful this post will continue.
The existing group will run from 3:30pm – 6pm on Saturdays in our meeting room which is situated within All Saints Church on Little Horton Lane opposite St Luke’s Hospital. We often have trips to museums and bowling and we have lots of great equipment like Wii, musical instruments, karaoke and craft supplies.
We envisage that one of the groups will be aimed at young people who require a more predictable routine, while the other group enjoy a more varied programme. We have had to turn away young people who were not comfortable with a changing environment and this is one of our reasons for establishing a second group which we aim to run from 12:30pm-3pm.
We are looking for a proactive, creative person who can take on this exciting challenge.
You will need to be a motivated self-starter who is both reliable and mature. You should be able to engage with people from a range of backgrounds, be able to lead sessions confidently and have the energy to run two sessions back to back.
You will also be responsible for booking trips, planning the sessions, updating and involving parents with newsletters and face to face contact.
There are 5.5 hours on Saturday and 1.5 hours to complete admin tasks which can be worked from home or in the office. This can be agreed with the Centre Coordinator.
We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds.
