Our exciting new programme for people looking for work takes wing on Monday 15th July with an introductory session from 10am-11am. ‘Learning to Fly’ is funded by the Big Lottery and it’s very different to the usual approach to looking for work…Come and join us for a free continental breakfast with coffee and croissants and find out what it’s all about.
There’ll be a short presentation followed by a chance to ask questions and decide if the programme is right for you…if it is, great! If it’s not for you, that’s okay, our work club is running at 11:30am so you can nip across to the IT room and take the more traditional approach.
The course is a total of 5 hours per week and is aimed at people who are looking for work and feeling demoralised and stuck in a rut. It runs for 10 weeks and consists of three weekly sessions where participants will explore new ways of looking at themselves, their situation and their futures.
The learning will be in a small group, some sessions will take place in our well equipped IT room, others in the relaxed surroundings of our meeting rooms, with interactive learning, DVD and audio sessions and refreshments throughout the sessions.
All those who take part will receive a beautiful workbook to keep a record of their flight path and their journey ahead.
The weekly sessions will be as follows:
- Tuesday – 10am-12pm Learn to make a fortune on ebay!
- Thursday – 1pm-3pm Get your plan together – Development class
- Friday – 10am-11am. Feel Good Friday – Techniques to change your mind.
Places are limited and attendees need to commit to the full 10 weeks. Jobcentre plus are happy for jobseekers to attend our course.
The course will run 4 times this year as a pilot scheme. Come and find out more on Monday.
