Good times at Green Light

Yesterdays Green Light session for asylum seekers and refugees was the busiest ever since we started the new Monday night format with English classes. Maybe it was because the word is getting around about how good our grub is? On the menu this week: delicious jerk chicken with rice and peas.

More than 25 people including families, children and many new faces came together to improve their English skills and share a meal and friendly conversation. The atmosphere was welcoming and wonderful with a lot of laughter and bridges being built.

Seeing the meeting room so full of happy faces was enough to beat the February chill.

Special thanks go to the STAR volunteers who work so hard delivering the English lessons, and to our landmark volunteers for being here whatever the weather to help out.
